I love two restaurants in Durango, Ken and Sues and the Durango Bagel. Both offer amazing food, ambiance and service. The price is more affordable at the Bagel, so I prefer to have my brunch there and dinner at Ken and Sues. I love the Newyorker, plenty of lox and the satisfying meal sates me til dinner. The people watching on the patio, (where Oprah was photographed) is terrific. There is always some local art on the walls; they support the locals but tourists will find a great bagel flavor and texture with a wide variety of toppings for lunch or breakfast and it was one of the few places we found that did not overcharge the tourists. I have not written many reviews but this small family run place deserves a mention for making an amazing effort to make an East coast guest feel at home in every way imaginable. If you are lucky you can see the owners small child smile and light up the room. She stopped in once when I was ordering a bagel dog!

This place is the best!! Their bagels are so good! They are alway fresh and soft and extremely tasty. The customer service in my experience has been phenomenal. They are always extremely friendly and I have never once been "glowered" at. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place. Their breakfast bagels have to be the best I have ever had, and their lunch bagels are amazing too! I don't know where they get their recipes, but I have to say they are very inventive. It seems like they made their recipes just for me because they are exactly what I would make if I was designing the perfect bagel sandwich. Would give this place six stars if I could.
Best Bagels Around

Durango Bagel is tucked away in a corner of downtown Durango I hardly ever find myself in so I didn't go there until recently, even though I love bagels. Other bagel places in town left me unsatisfied (but I love their donuts!) so I was really excited to walk into Durango Bagel and see big giant bagels in every variety imaginable.
The only reason this review isn't five stars is because they don't have hummus (my favorite bagel topping) but I had a great egg and cheese bagel.
The coffee was good, staff was nice and there was free wifi too!
I think I'll be visiting Durango Bagel quite a bit.

i love this place! allways fast and friendly service with great food at a great price! and they even now have espresso drinks- awesome local spot! breakfast bagel with a late is the best combo and everytime i go there, the people working always know my order without me ever having to say it! :) best service, food and coffee in durango!
Worst customer service in Durango!

I am sorry to write this because the food is excellent. However, being a local, and working around the corner, I have now experienced the poor service here several times. These people are making bagels sandwiches! It's not exactly rocket science. Yet, each time I go in, I am greeted by a moody college kid who barely greets me, then begrudgingly makes my bagel. I only write this so the owners have a chance to make a change! PS, god forbid you ask for a to-go bag, or anything else extra, you will be glowered at until you leave!
